Tinovo Restaurant, Worcester, MA
In 1876 Daniel Wesson of Smith and Wesson fame built a fabulous residence for his daughter Sarah and husband Dr. George T. Bull as a wedding present. Later expanded for the Grand Army of the Republic, this beautiful mansion was an underutilized property in need of renovation and a new use. Renovations included the addition of a full commercial kitchen, along with a new elevator, dumbwaiter, restrooms and multiple bars. One of the greatest challenges was hiding the new HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety systems within a building in which both the interior and exterior walls are primarily solid masonry. Designed by Daniel Lewis while at Lamoureux Pagano Associates, Architects.
